Vegetable Khichdi-onsite people's favourite

This is the first time I am blogging. So thought lets start with the preparation of Vegetable Khichdi. This is a favourite Indian Dish and a healthy food for the whole family.

Preparation Time - 1hr( if all of ur room mates r helping) or else add half an hour more time:-)

Fills the Stomach for 6 people.

Required Items

3 Glass of Rice and 1 Glass of Moong Dhaal( Wash it and keep aside)

Vegetables- Cauliflower, Beans, Potatoes, Carrot, Green Peas, Onions, Tomatoes( cut in small pieces and you can add many more vegetables, as healthy as u want)

Ginger- small piece ( cut in small pieces)

Cumin Seeds, 6 Bay leaves, 1tbsp Turmeric Powder, 6tbsp Chilli Powder, 6 tbsps of Hot spices(Garam Masala, as per the quantity of vegetables),6tbsp of Cumin seeds powder

Oil or Ghee( as required)

Utensil Required

Just one Pressure Cooker(5ltrs capacity) and a big spoon required.:-)

Lets come to the Stomach part now

Take the Cooker and heat up the oil or ghee. Put some Cumin seeds and Bay leaves, and fry for 30 secs or until u smell the roasted cumin seeds. Now put the ginger and they the onions. Fry until onion becomes little moist. Now put Turmeric powder, Cumin Seed Powder, Chilli Powder, Garam masala and fry till they roast. Add the Tomatoes now, and add salt as per taste. Put all the vegetables now and mix thoroughly with the mixture. Add the rice and Moong Dhaal and mix well. Add 6-7 glass of water and close the pressure cooker. Allow it to cook for 3-4 Clear whistles. Switch off the gas and wait for 5-10 mins to open the lid.

Your Vegetable khicdi is ready to be served. You can serve it with curd or salad and also fry some paapad. the combination goes good.
